This elephant will be a permanent piece of art/sculpture in Baldoyle – painted by a high profile artist and hosted by Baldoyle Community Hall – and are looking for ideas to inspire the artist, with the question being – What do you love about Baldoyle? Mountview Family Resource Centre upgrades
There has been amazing renovation work carried out at Mountview Family Resource Centre recently, with a new open plan kitchen come dining room with patio door out to the garden, a lovely new sensory/herb garden and the whole facility painted. The kitchen being a great space for small groups needing cooking space. The upgrades were facilitated thanks to funding received from Pobal, Electric Aid Ireland, LCDC and TUSLA parent and child participation fund. All the paint used came from the rediscovery center in Ballymun. Pictures of the great work can be seen below.

Active Cities Dublin and Fingal County Council in partnership with Leave No Trace Ireland are delighted to invite you to the launch of the Fingal Parks and Trails Challenge at Newbridge House and Farm, Donabate on Friday the 4th of August at 11am.
Join us for a morning of celebration as we kickstart a month-long challenge in which the public are called upon to explore walking trails across parks and towns around Fingal in a bid to win an array of amazing prizes!
Taking part is easy. People can register online at www.fingal.ie/parks-trails. Once registration is complete, participants have the entire month of August to visit four of Fingal’s fabulous park locations, including Newbridge House and Farm, Ardgillan Park and Demense, Malahide Castle and Gardens, St. Catherines Park, Millennium Park, and Santry Demense. For the chance to win an array of amazing prizes, take a photo at the selfie spot banners hidden in each of the Fingal parks and trail’s locations and enter your photos at www.fingal.ie/parks-trails. Prizes include National Aquatic Centre family passes, picnic baskets, mugs and much more. Four selfies from each park must be uploaded to take part in the competition. Prizes will be awarded weekly throughout August.
Excitement around the initiative has been building, with Mayor of Fingal, Cllr. Adrian Henchy, set to make an appearance at the launch. He believes its an excellent opportunity for the public to get outdoors while enjoying the gorgeous parks Fingal has to offer:
“We are extremely fortunate here in Fingal to have some of the most beautiful parks in the country. The Parks and Trail Challenge is a wonderful chance to experience nature first-hand while enjoying parts of Fingal you may have yet to explore. I’m really looking forward to hitting the trail in Newbridge on Friday, August 4th. We’ll be taking off at 11am and I’m welcoming you all to come along and join us.”
Chief Executive, AnnMarie Farrelly, echoed similar thoughts, stating:
“New and historic parks around the county are an incredible free resource for residents and visitors to Fingal and this is a perfect opportunity to explore them. I want to personally commend everyone involved and look forward to a wonderful morning of celebration.”
The Fingal Parks and Trail challenge is an initiative created by Active Cities and Fingal County Council, in partnership with Leave No Trace Ireland.
The Active Cities Project is funded by Sports Ireland and aims to promote the healthier lifestyles of its citizens through physical activity, regardless of age or ability. Active Cities coordinator in Fingal, Ian Farrell, commented:
“This is a great chance for people to have fun and discover what Fingal has to offer while also keeping fit and healthy. I look forward to seeing everyone down at Newbridge House and Farm on the 4th of August at 11am for a morning of excitement and exploration.”
Leave No Trace Ireland encourages the public to keep parks clean by disposing of rubbish correctly, protecting the natural wildlife and vegetation, and promoting positive outdoor behaviours while connecting with nature. They seek to sustain a healthy environment through research, education, and outreach so everyone can protect and enjoy the outdoors responsibly.

Fingal Inclusion Week 2023 expression of interest reminder
Hello Everyone!!!
We are delighted to announce the dates for Fingal Inclusion Week dates for 2023 as the 13th – 19th of November 2023, we would like to welcome you all again and invite you to take part! I know it seems like early days but as there are so many activities across the week so if you are thinking of hosting an event it gives you plenty of time to plan and get organised. With that in mind we invite you to complete the expression of interest form (link below) it is open from 30th June to 5pm on the 18th August at which stage we will be closing off applications for 2023.
Fingal Inclusion Week runs from 13th – 19th November 2023 and is an initiative of Fingal County Council Community Development Office In collaboration and the Fingal Integration Team. It aims to highlight the positive work of communities, agencies and other organisation’s involved in reducing social exclusion and poverty in Fingal. The week also seeks to raise awareness of the barriers experienced by citizens of Fingal that lead to social exclusion and promote an understanding of inclusion in Fingal.
