Outcomers began in September 2021 as a 24-week programme encompassing resilience training, reading materials and room space . It encourages community participation through engagement, accessibility and training. LGBTQ+ Community make up roughly 10% of our community. Those who have been isolated during Covid19 remain a priority and a support group in Flemington Community Centre is underway.
Isolation can be a key theme for members of the LGBTQ+ community leading to social exclusion and community isolation. This project offers support to the group/individuals to identify group culture, individual resilience and participation in civic life in Balbriggan. This programme for LGBTQ+ resilience training, group development and materials is in line with government directives, the Fingal Integration Strategy and the work of the Community Development Office.
