Fingal Inclusion Week 2023

Fingal Inclusion Week 2023 is an initiative led by Fingal County Council, Fingal County Council Integration Office. 2023 is the fifth year of Fingal Inclusion Week. Around 70 events will take place across the County of Fingal from Monday the 13th of November to Sunday the 19th of November. All Fingal Inclusion Week events are free to attend and open to everyone.

Fingal Inclusion Week aims to:

  • Highlight the positive work that communities, agencies and other organisations are involved in to reduce social exclusion and poverty in Fingal.
  • Raise awareness of the barriers experienced by citizens of Fingal that lead to social exclusion.
  • Promote an understanding of inclusion in Fingal and celebrate diversity across the county.

AANI Social Inclusion Information Sessions

As part of Fingal Inclusion week 2023 and with support from Fingal County Council’s Community Development Office, African Advocacy Network Ireland are providing free Social Inclusion information sessions for members of the community.

To take place on Friday the 17th and Saturday the 18th of November in the Blanchardstown library from 3.00 to 5.00pm on both days, with session topics each day given in the poster above.

Council seeks residents input on sports and recreation facilities in Fingal

Fingal County Council are asking for people across the county to share their thoughts on sports and recreation facilities across Fingal.

Healthy minds and bodies create healthy communities and the Council is preparing a sports and recreation facilities audit for the County.

This exercise will be vital for planning what facilities our communities will need into the future, and where they should go. Your input is vital for enhancing our community resources.

To have your say on the future of sport and recreation in your community go to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/fingalsportsaudit.

The survey will take no more than 5 minutes to complete and will close on Monday, November the 13th.

If you complete the survey and provide your contact details, you could be in with a chance to win a One4All voucher worth €250.

Social Boccia Blitz

Fingal County Council’s Sports Office in association with Sport Ireland, are hosting the first Social Boccia Blitz event, with details attached in the poster above.  This will take place in Alsaa Sport Complex on November the 16th and is open to anyone who would like to attend(aimed especially at older adult groups).

There is no previous experience of Boccia required to take part.

Fingal Festival of Fire 2023

Join us for the Fingal Festival of Fire on Tuesday the 31st of October. We have a lineup of spooktacular events at various locations:

Blakestown Community Centre Octoberfest

Bring your spades and gardening tools!

Blakestown Community Centre with support from Fingal County Council’s Community Development Office and Foroige are running a Youth planting project. Join in on the 1st of November from 11.00am at the centre as the young people of Foroige Blakestown make a change in improving the Community.

Everyone is welcome to participate with tea/coffee given to all volunteers on the day.

Halloween event St. Macullins Community Centre

St. Macullins Community Centre are hosting a free Halloween event on Tuesday the 31st of October from 6.00 to 9.00pm, suitable for all age groups.

Events such as Spooky Stories, Creepy Scavenger Hunt(supervised) will take place along with many more on the night. Everyone welcome to attend.

Balbriggan Traveller Group Social Inclusion coffee morning

As part of Fingal Inclusion week and with support from Fingal County Council’s Community Development Office, The Balbriggan Traveller Project are hosting a Social Inclusion coffee morning on Thursday the 16th of November from 11.00am to 1.00pm, at their centre in Matt Lane.

With many different sessions taking place in the morning, is sure to be an enjoyable morning with lots to be learned.

Donabate Portrane Community Centre Halloween disco and safety awareness quiz

Donabate Portrane Community Centre, with support from Fingal County Councils Community Development Office, are hosting a free Halloween disco!

To take place on Friday the 27th of October from 7.00 to 9.00pm for children aged 10 to 14 years old.

A quiz on Halloween safety will also take place on the night.
