Dublin Rural LEADER is committed to supporting rural communities in adopting sustainable, low-carbon solutions. As part of our Sustainable Development of the Rural Environment & Climate Change Mitigation objectives, we are launching a targeted funding call to help Community Organisations transition to environmentally friendly maintenance practices.

We invite voluntary organisations such as Tidy Towns groups, Sports Organisations, and Environmental Groups to apply for funding to modernise their equipment, embrace sustainable practices, and contribute to Ireland’s climate action goals.

Dublin Rural LEADER invites applications for funding to support your Sport Club/Tidy Town and Environmental Group.
Please submit your Expression of Interest by the 2nd May 2025 deadline.
📌 Purpose of the Call:
This funding opportunity supports initiatives that:
✔️ Reduce carbon emissions through the use of electric-powered maintenance tools
✔️ Enhance green spaces in rural communities
✔️ Promote climate change mitigation and adaptation
This call aligns with:

Local Objective 14: Support initiatives that encourage and complement climate change mitigation and adaptation.

Theme 3: Sustainable Development of the Rural Environment and Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation

Sub-Themes 3.3: Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation

💰 Funding Details:
  • Individual Project Funding: €5,000 – €20,000
  • Grant Aid Rate: Up to 75%
  • Total Budget Available for call: €200,000
🗓 Important Dates:
  • Call Opens: 2nd April 2025
  • Deadline for EOIs: Friday 2nd May 2025
  • EOI Assessment & Notification: 6th May-30th May 2025
🌍 Who Can Apply?
This call is open to:
  • Tidy Towns Groups, Sports Organisations and Environmental Groups aiming to enhance green spaces and reduce carbon emissions.
  • You must be located within the LEADER Operational Area.

What Can Be Funded?
Funding is available for electric-powered tools and equipment that support sustainable maintenance and landscaping, such as:
✔️ Electric and robotic lawnmower
✔️ Electric hedge trimmer
✔️ Electric strimmer
✔️ Electric leaf blower
✔️ Other electric tools that reduce environmental impact

Additional Merits:
Extra consideration will be given to:
🔹 Organisations with a strong commitment to social inclusion and a Social Inclusion Policy in place.
🌱 Those replacing fuel-powered equipment with electric alternatives or introducing electric tools for the first time.
